On January 14, 2000 HomeSmart Real Estate announced its Grand Opening to the Phoenix marketplace with only two Agents. A reputation for advanced technologies soon followed. As a result, HomeSmart rapidly developed into one of Arizona’s fastest growing Real Estate brokerages. With a commitment to its Agents and Clients, HomeSmart grew to over 1700 Agents, and Franchises in Arizona and California by 2007 and in 2010 now has over 3700 agents.
Today, HomeSmart is the largest independently owned brokerage in the Southwestern United States and climbing!
HomeSmart’s success can be attributed to Owner and President, Matt Widdows. In the early 1990′s Matt created a computer company that utilized innovative technologies to develop an accounts management program for the medical industry. After selling that company, Matt obtained his real estate license and began working in the industry.
Matt recognized the opportunity to bring his technological expertise into real estate and the idea of HomeSmart was born. He created a company built around technology so that Agents could have cutting edge tools, a professional meeting and working enviroment, and efficiencies that would give them more time to focus on their Clients and their business.
